Superior Security Sealant - #SPS - Standard

Two Component, Semi-Rigid, Epoxy Sealant

SUPERIOR SECURITY SEALANT is a 100% solids, semi-rigid, two component epoxy gel for security caulking. SUPERIOR SECURITY SEALANT may be applied in layers up to one half inch thick.  For hand mix and application.  40 minute pot life.

Uses

Advantages

  • Semi-rigid sealant for security areas.
  • Filler and sealer for control joints.

  • Hard and pick-resistant.
  • Easy -to-use 1:1 by volume mix ratio.
  • Has movement capability.
  • 100% solids.
  • 20% elongaton.
  • Excellent adhesion.

Limitations

  • Do NOT apply when temperature is below 50oF.
  • Do NOT apply to latex modified mortar or concrete.
  • Should not be applied when concrete is less than 5 days old.

Surface Preparation

Area must be clean and dry. Saw-cuts shall be blown clean and dry with compressed air to remove all excess moisture and debris.

Mixing & Application

Mix equal volumes of Part A and Part B. Mix thoroughly until the color is uniform with no streaks in evidence. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing pail. In joints up to 1/2 inch wide, the depth should be equal to the width. In joints wider than 1/2 inch, the depth should be maintained at 1/2 inch. The width or depth of the joint should not be less than 1/4 inch. For neat and easy application, tape both sides of joints and grooves with masking tape.

Apply SUPERIOR JOINT SEAL with conventional caulking gun, disposable plastic dispenser or pour from the can. Fill joints flush to the top or slightly higher than the surrounding surface. A second pass prior to curing may be necessary due to the fact that all pour grade materials will "dish" or become concave. Remove all tape and clean spills and tools immediately upon completion of installation.
