Superior Epoxy Seal - #SES

64% Solids, Excellent Adhesion Epoxy System

SUPERIOR EPOXY SEAL is a two component epoxy-polyamide sealer designed to protect and beautify concrete, metal, brick and wood. It provides a durable, cleanable light reflecting coating with excellent adhesion and protective qualities.    View Color Chart

Uses

  • Base color coat.
  • Slip-resistant surface when suitable grit is broadcast into freshly
    applied surface.
  • Semi-gloss topcoat.

Advantages

  • Fast-drying and easy to apply.
  • Improves the appearance and performance of any substrate.
  • Provides cleanable, durable, light-reflective floor.
  • Suitable for warehouses, stairs, machine shops, garages, and most industrial environments.

Surface Preparation

Apply SUPERIOR EPOXY SEAL to clean, sound substrate. Dusty, soft or greasy concrete will be difficult to coat and may cause delamination. It is often helpful to get a good, rough profile on the concrete to assure a good mechanical bond. Shot blasting with light shot, wire brushing or acid etching can achieve the desired effect. Surfaces should be washed, degreased and vacuumed. When using SUPERIOR EPOXY SEAL on existing coatings, test for compatibility by applying test patch. Check for any lifting, softening or peeling of the existing coating. Strip the old coating if there is any doubt about compatibility.

Mixing & Application

Part A and part B should be charged to a clean mixing pail and mixed until streak-free. If the temperature is below 50 deg F, allow the mixed product to stand for 30-45 minutes before applying. Apply with a medium nap (3/8 inch) roller, brush or spray. For a skid-proof surface, immediately broadcast a suitable grit into the wet coating. Skid-proof within 15 minutes of application.

Limitations

  • Do NOT apply when temperature is below 40oF.
  • Do NOT apply to latex modified mortar or concrete.

Clean Up

Clean tools and equipment immediately with a suitable solvent such as xylene or lacquer thinner.

Caution

For professional use only. Epoxy systems can cause delayed dermatitis. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. See Material Safety Data Sheet for proper handling and required safety equipment.
